Properties:
- Anti-spasmodic
- Anti-inflammatory
- Nervine
- Hypotensive
- Astringent
- Emmenagogue
- Sedative
- Relaxant
- Cardiac tonic
- Uterine relaxant
Traditional Uses:
- Internal: Effective for menstrual cramps, period pains, threatened miscarriage, and hiccups. Alleviates lower back pain, leg spasms, and muscle spasms.
- External: Can be made into a poultice or cream to relieve spasms and pain.
Directions for Use:
- Decoction: Use 1-2 teaspoons (2g-4g) of bark per cup of water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Drink three times daily.

- Do not use if pregnant or lactating
- People on blood-thinning medication need close monitoring
- Consult with a medical practitioner before use
