White Willow Bark (Salix Alba)

Properties:

• Analgesic
• Anti-inflammatory
• Tonic

Traditional Uses:

• Relieves pain and inflammation, known as nature's aspirin
• Effective for rheumatism, osteoarthritis, and arthritis
• Reduces period pains and backache
• Acts as an aspirin replacement without causing stomach irritation
• Reduces high temperature
• General painkiller for headaches and toothaches
• Used for migraines, often in combination with feverfew, improving frequency, intensity, and duration of attacks

Directions for Use:

• Decoction: Pour 1 cup of boiling water onto 1 teaspoon of dried bark. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Steep for a while, then strain. Drink three times per day.
